Privacy Policy
NephroLife is a haemodialysis companion app for patients, together with a doctor portal that lets a patient's nephrologist follow their progress. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. Your health information is sensitive, and we handle it accordingly. We operate from Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, India; for any privacy question, email support@nephrolife.in.
1. Information we collect
- Account and profile — your email address, name, age, dry weight, dialysis start date, schedule and frequency, centre name, treating nephrologist, and emergency contact. For doctors: the professional profile entered during onboarding.
- Dialysis and health data you log — dialysis sessions (including timings), inter-dialytic weight and weight gain, blood pressure, fluid intake and urine output, symptoms such as breathlessness, cramps and hypotension, injections given during sessions, serology status, and medications with adherence.
- Lab reports — images or PDFs you upload, and the values read from them (for example potassium, phosphorus, creatinine, urea, haemoglobin and calcium).
- Diet logs — foods you record for potassium, phosphorus, sodium and fluid tracking.
- Technical data — basic logs needed to run the service reliably and keep it secure.
2. How we use your information
- To provide the core features: session, weight and fluid tracking, trends, diet tracking, and reminders.
- To generate optional AI lab explanations and diet advice. When you use these features, the relevant lab or health values are sent to our AI provider, Google Gemini, solely to produce your result; this data is not used to train third-party models. These features are optional.
- To share your data with a doctor only when you choose to link your account to that doctor. You control this link and can remove it at any time.
- To process payments for the Pro and Clinic plans through Google Play Billing (Android in-app purchases) and Razorpay (web). We never receive or store your card details.
- To send account emails, such as password-reset messages, via our email provider (Resend).
- To keep the service secure and to meet our legal obligations.
3. Who we share data with
We do not sell your data, and we do not share your health data with advertisers. We share data only with the providers needed to run NephroLife, and only as required:
- Supabase — database and authentication hosting.
- Google Gemini — AI processing of lab reports and diet advice, when you use those features.
- Google Play Billing and Razorpay — payment processing for paid plans.
- Resend — sending account emails such as password resets.
- Your linked doctor — only when you connect your account to them.
4. Storage and security
Your data is stored on Supabase with row-level security and encryption in transit over HTTPS. Records are accessible only from your own authenticated account and to any doctor you have explicitly linked. No system is perfectly secure, so please protect your login credentials and your device.
5. Your rights and choices
- You can view and edit the data you log at any time in the app, and delete individual records.
- You can export a PDF report of your records from within the app to share with your care team.
- You can unlink a doctor to stop sharing future data with them.
- You can permanently delete your account and associated data from within the app, or by emailing support@nephrolife.in. See how to delete your account.
6. Data retention
We keep your data for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, we remove your personal and health data from our systems, except for limited records (such as payment records) that we must retain to meet legal obligations.
7. Children
NephroLife is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the “Last updated” date above, and where appropriate we will notify you in the app.
